Puerto Cabazes Nicaragua Mission Trip 2010
Tuesday, March 2nd 9 a.m.
We have arrived home to the Snow Belt and are back at work. There is something just wrong about leaving 100 degrees at 7:30 a.m. to come home to all this SNOW! However, the snow does make our Tans look nice! Thank You for Your Prayers...Richard is out of the hospital and is feeling much better. They believe it may have been a kidney stone but he is back at work today and planning to be in Puerto Cabezas on Thursday.
Lumber for the roof trusses should be delivered today...wouldn't it be Amazing to have THIS Sunday's service in their completed new building!! Can't Wait to See what God will do this week!
Saturday, February 27th 2 p.m.
We have arrived in Managua and now have access to the internet. Richard Becton is currently at the hospital suffering with extreme pains in his abdomen. The doctors are running tests and Carolyn is very worried. Please pray for both of them. Our trip was amazing so please plan to join us Sunday, March 7th in the morning service. We plan to show pictures and discuss our trip. We are all ready for HOT water in our showers!
Saturday, February 20th Noon
We have arrived in the no internet zone...
Saturday, February 20th 7:45 a.m.
Awesome breakfast buffet on the patio! Already 70 degrees...its going to be a golden day!!
Friday, February 19th 10 p.m.
Arrived safely in Managua...Pizza Hut Delivers :)
Friday, February 19th 4:00 p.m.
The missions team arrived safely in Atlanta and we are 2 hours into our 3 hour layover. We realized half way to Atlanta that Delta never charged us for our $35 per bag luggage fees! Dave Martin had the opportunity to speak to one of the flight attendants and prior to getting off the plane, the attendant gave us 6 huge bottles of water and a bag full of Delta snacks (peanuts, cookies, pretzels)! Karen, Becky and Alisha are off to Ben and Jerry's while the rest of us "watch the bags." In summary, we've safed $315 in fees and managed to get free water and food! Life is Good :)
BUFFALO AIRPORT FRIDAY FEBRUARY 19TH...
CHECKED IN AND READY TO GO :)

NICARAGUA MISSION PROJECT:
Missionaries Richard and Carolyn Becton announced plans to construct a roof for the Nuevo Jerusalem Church of God in Puerto Cabezas. We have sent a missions team to help the local construction crew build the roof. The pictures below indicate that the building is very large, and you can see that they currently have a church inside their church. Services are held in the small pavilion until the outer building is completed.
Your contributions to Praise Cathedral's Missions enables our missionaries to tackle huge projects like this roof. YOU make it possible for Praise Cathedral to make a difference in our world. Please pray for our missionaries, Richard and Carolyn, for our mission team (Phil Funk, Karen Mellors, Ed Strine, David Martin, Ed & Trudy Sveda, Becky Funk, Alisha Lockard and Chuck Simmer), and for God's will to be done through this project. May hearts be reached and lives changed through the construction of this roof.
